Bed Headed Wardo showed up 15 minutes late for his 2nd Rd. heat at France's Hossegor beach. This after a "no show" for his round 1 heat due to the ASP reshuffling the draw on him. When asked what happened he said, "I got a call this morning from a friend or someone waking me up. Maybe it was the ASP telling me this time I was missing my heat."
Ever since Ward got charged in what is being called the "Cougar Assault" the ASP has not been making things easy on Chris. He allegedly "assaulted 3 women with a deadly weapon other than a firearm" at 2 a.m. outside the Whiskey Creek Tavern in Mamouth last January. What was that deadly weapon? Ward just may have threatened one woman with a chunk of ice and punched another women who tried to intervene. The late-night brawl resulted in Ward apparently being beaten to the ground by a group of unknown men.
The trial was set for Aug. 17th - right before the Hurley Pro at Ward's home break of Trestles where the "Lost Surfboards" poster boy also lost in the looser's Rd. - but now that trial's been delayed to Oct. Could the ASP possibly be making things ultra difficult for Ward thus tarnishing his image leading up to the trial or is Chris just a dick? Either way I hope he continues to go down swinging.
